Top of the Rock

We started one of our busiest days in New York by racing across town to 30 Rock, intent on heading to the observation deck and doing the NBC tour.

This was the first photo I took from the Top of the Rock, and it's still my favourite.
When we got there we found out there were no tours running until the afternoon, so we bought our tickets for the tour and headed for the deck.

Right through the very heart of it...

The view from the deck was incredible.  The rain and clouds just added to the romance.

Worth every rain drop.

The view over the Hudson.

Looking out over the upper west side.

The upper east side and the East River.

Outside the Rockafeller center was a Lego store.  We spent a little time there.

We had a bit of time until our tour, so we went to get a haircut on the east side.  For the Talk and I, this was just a trim.  For the Liar, it was kind of a big deal.

Hair today.

Gone tomorrow.

We weren't allowed to take photos on the NBC tour, but it was very enjoyable.  I was impressed that we got to see Brian Cranston on the Saturday Night Live set, getting his promo photos taken.  We were shown the NBC Football studio, the 'nerve center' and the Talk did a short stint as a fake news anchor.

That night we hit 9th for dinner, and went to a restaurant called "Delta," which specialised in Cajun food.

Jumbalaya

Blackened Catfish with succotash

Chickenfried steak.
If I could, I would only eat Jambalaya for the rest of my life.

  1. It's no wonder the Liar got sick - making him rush all over the city like that, up high, down low, cross town canyoning, probably done more eating than he has all year, - and then his first haircut in four years! Stressful day all around.
